Reflex
At first, web sites were made of simple HTML pages. Then, dynamic pages came in and this made possible the creation of discussion forums, weblogs, intranets, and many other things. Theses are all web applications. Each of them manage their own user list, use their own cache system, have a different way that must be learned.
Reflex is a web publication platform for web sites allowing the unification of different web site components under a unique framework. With Reflex, you activate the modules you need. Activating a module will instantaneously add the needed parts in the administration interface and the database will be updated to allow the new elements on the website.
Reflex’s base modules are currently in developpement and in use for this website. The Pages module allows the creation of pages like this one. My weblog is managed by the Weblog module and another module called Comments allows comments to be posted on log entries.
So, When?
When reading this text it doesn’t look like this, but there is still a lot of issues to solve before I release this software. I plan to release a first in summer of 2006. Until then, read my weblog if you want some news.
